Rip's Impressions
None who endeavor to become well versed in the modern classics can escape Joyce; he influenced the century of writers who followed him. He did not write more than a few short stories and novels, so it is easily possible to read all he wrote; not necessarily to finish or understand them. That takes some study. Save him for the advanced student of reading.
literary tidbits

His own cross to bare was the pain of going blind slowly over the course of his entire adult life.
