The author Marcel, whose main character is the author, Marcel. One of my fondest reading memories. The 4,000 + pages may just as well be one long sentence, linked together by subordinated clauses. Once the reader catches the rhythm of Swann's Way, the first volume, the rest is a glide, like floating on top of a wave carrying the reader from one volume to the next.
